Social networking is easy if you know how to work your way around it. A lot of people wonder in amazement at how some individuals can accumulate a lot of contacts in different networks, but what these individuals actually do is to follow a tried and tested method of widening their social circles on the Internet. Here are seven easy steps that will turn you into a social butterfly in no time.

1. Create a network and invite people with the same interests as you to join. Become an online hub for enthusiasts about anything that you have in common with them.

2. Aside from people with similar interests, expand the width and breadth of your knowledge and tap other groups with different BUT related interests.

3. Widen your social network by consistently being on the lookout for new contacts and prospective members. Always send out invites on a regular basis and watch your social network grow!

4. Merge systems by sharing your network with other types of networking satellites. Doing this also increases your link building.

5. Do not just add people - participate in discussion boards and bulletins! If there is a lull in conversation, spice things up by introducing hot new topics to be discussed among the members.

6. Do not let your site contents stagnate - update, update, and update! Add great recent pictures, fresh new quotations and the latest tidbits of information. The updated sites are the most active and visited ones.

7. Promote your network on a regular basis. Hop on to other "web worlds" and tell them about the wonderful thriving community over on your turf. Chances are other individuals will become curious enough to check it out for themselves. And then they do join - and stay and participate - give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done.
